Punaluu Black Sand Beach Camping

You can't enter the area due to campers piled up at the entrance keeping folks from entering. Folks are camping in the pavilion as I type this . Be ready to defend yourself from campers dogs running loose my service animal and I was just attacked by campers dog off leash. If you come be ready for a tacky dangerous time

Too many tourist! But grab some malasadas and enjoy the view

This is an amazing place. If you only have time for one black sand beach, go to this one. We saw a couple turtles and people were keeping a respectful distance so that was nice to see. Plenty of people swimming and walking around but not overly crowded on a Friday afternoon. There were bathrooms, picnic and camping areas and little shops for souvenirs.

Our tour bus around the island brung us here. We spent about 20 minutes here and it was beautiful. Theres we're lots of sea turtles, the black sand is perfect and different from any normal beach appearance, and they have a pond full of lilies! That was my first time ever seeing a pond like that! You'll definitely want to take pictures here, if you have a professional camera, then bring it!

There are hreen sea turtles sunning themselves and feeding in the water. You can snorkle with the turtles and look at the fish. There are refreshment and souvenier stands. There is a lifeguard on duty most of the time. Nice beach. Really different.
