Had an absolute great time here, as just a couple of Aussies snowshoeing for the first time. Hired snow shoes and poles and hiked about 4km to Prospect Mountain peak. The trails were very well marked with plenty of options for different routes. Finished our time in the cosy base lodge with some delicious Beef Chili Soup and a Grilled Cheese and Tomato Sandwich. Everyone was so friendly and I definitely recommend!

WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! If u love XC skiing and live in NYC or Boston this place is insanely awesome. 3.5hrs away from NY, great trails, no frills all XC skiing. Price for day ticket is super reasonable ($25) and all the staff are so nice. Main lodge vibes are 10/10. To top it all off they have INSANELY awesome soups and grilled cheese. It could be that we’re just starving by the time we start eating here but I guess you’ll have to see for yourself :)

So…how did we go so long without finding this place? Quick drive over from Albany, great conditions, beautifully groomed trails and an inviting lodge. We’ll be back - and we’ll keep an eye on conditions at Prospect when things get soggy down here at sea level!

Valentine’s Day. We have travelled far for XC ski. Depending on conditions about 2-3 times a winter seems right, our work schedule can pause. Great food served at the lodge however bring your own take out option, place can be crowded. Trails and scenery are postcard quality, screaming downhill to serene walk in the park situation.

My husband and I planned a special date day and decided to try cross-country skiing for the first time since our childhoods — nearly 30 years ago. We were genuinely excited walking in. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we entered the rental shop. The gentleman working there seemed annoyed that we had come in, even though they had only been open about ten minutes. When we asked about rentals, he responded with “ugh” and mentioned that he doesn’t like doing rentals. There was no offer of a trail map, no instructions, and no attempt at conversation. As first-time visitors, we would have really appreciated even a small welcome or bit of guidance. That said, the mountain itself was absolutely beautiful. The trails were well groomed, the lodge was warm and cozy,
