Prairie Ridge Park

Pro: pretty lake view Multiple cons: you must take 3 miles of very poorly maintained gravel roads then a black top road that has a TON of huge pot holes that are not great for traveling with a camper. The bugs were atrocious. Usually there are more bugs out camping in fall but this was out of hand like the campground does not spray for bugs. The bathrooms were poorly maintained and far away from sites. This place needs a lot of work. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS CAMPGROUND AND DONT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. After our first night, we actually left and moved over to Honey Creek State Park South and that was a thousand times better.

Been coming for 8 years! Best time ever! BEST SUNSETS AROUND! CAN SEE THE STARS FOR MILES!!

Love staying at Prarie Ridge it's a hidden treasures at Lake Rathbun. We love that is small and tucked back in the woods very peaceful. I never feels over crowded with people makes you feel like you are out Camping.

10 thumbs up to the custodian !!!!! Great job. Facilities well cared for.. 2018. B loop shower house totally refreshed !!!!! All new paint. As far as a star rating for 2019 Lets start with a 1 Not to sure about 2019 yet. Park does not look good. Grass not mowed. Cold showers in B loop. No water on A loop. Seems to be that the corpes is way behind this year.. To bad they lost Highway.. He did an awsome job in 2018. Lots of new employees.. WELL AS OF JULY 2019 I'VE DROPPED IT TO A 1. PICTURES SHOW HOW . JAROD THE NEW SUPERVISOR RANGER CARES ABOUT PRAIRIE RIDGE. REALLY SAD... CORPES NEEDS TO LOOK FOR A SUPERVISOR THAT CARES ABOUT THE PARK. IF NOTHING ELSE HAVE JAROD LEARN TO CLEAN BATHROOMS. LET KANSAS CITY DISTRICT KNOW OF YOUR DISAPOINTMENT WITH PRAIRIE RIDGE.....
