Nice campground right on the river. Trail to Blue Spring clogged with flood debris.

★★★★☆ 4.0 Eric Smith · Mar 2022

Cost is $5 per night, payable at drop box next to campsites. Fees are discontinued until 15 April 2022. Pack out your trash. There are eight campsites, each with a fire ring, picnic table, and a metal pole for hanging lanterns. The drop toilet is nearby, and as of this posting, is open. Hammock backpackers - use site 5, there are two trees perfectly spaced that are not in the woodline. Tent backpackers set up wherever. The trail to Blue Spring is completely washed out. It goes one half mile in and leads directly into the river. The flood must have destroyed it. Very windy. Sitting in the river valley makes it that way.

We had the whole place to ourselves. Great price of free during the off season. We enjoyed hiking to blue spring and to the old school house across the river. Good basecamp for hiking the OT

Gave it three stars only so people know that the floods have knocked it around a lot. Isn’t easy access into the river. Can’t hike to blue hole and hundreds of ticks in the area.

We did not camp here but visited. Just tent camping, $10/day. Small boat ramp like area to access the river. Clean hole in the ground restrooms. I'm doing my post for the Blue Springs trailhead. There is no information posted in this campground about it. There is what looks like a trailhead at the back of the campground. It has a sign that says Blue Springs with an arrow and a knocked down trailhead post, but when when you head that way you encounter a huge nest of fallen trees and no where to go. There is another trailhead post sign that says nothing about where it leads, to the right of the restrooms. We got so close to being at the blue springs main trail and ran into a flooded trail. Before that was the real stinker, the trail got so narrow and so full of brush or huge amounts of falle
