Potosi Point Recreational Area

Great view of Mississippi river and a a small marshy area. Lots of birds flew in at dusk to nest. Swans, geese primarily. Has a boat launch tamp and also a free telescope. No resteooms or facilities.

Gorgeous spot to stop and see the Mississippi River. You literally drive right up to it. Beautiful drive in. Nice place to get out and stretch. Almost no one there when we were there. Peaceful.

It's a little hard to find Potosi Point, and that might be good. It's a beautiful, untouched, peaceful spot on the Mississippi. I hope it stays that way.

Nothing here but a boat ramp and a couple spotting scopes but it's a great little spot. Fyi if you have a high roof Sprinter, it's cutting it close through the railroad tunnel. Had to stack stuff at the back of the van to get the backup camera clearance on the way out, but I made it. Clearance sign says 9' but it's more like 107".

One of my favorite places to stop and relax for a bit. There's never a lot of people here, so you can often find some peace and quiet. Potosi Point juts out into the Mississippi River, at the very end of the peninsula you'll have a fantastic view of the river in all directions.
