Wonderful campground! Paved pads for RVs/vehicle parking. There are no hookups, but good exposure for RV solar panels. Each site has a firepit. Bring your own firewood as there is nowhere to purchase it close by. Water spigots throughout the park, clean restrooms (no showers,) and beautiful sandy beach with large swimming area. The campground is right next to a public boat launch. The boat slips are on a first-come-first-served basis, but you can also tie up along the beach in front of the campground. It seems advance reservations are a must. There is a scannable QR code at the kiosk to reserve a site online, but no one in our party had cell service (t mobile/at&t) so this would not have worked for us. We visited in early June and found the campground was not too busy yet and very serene!
Once again we had a wonderful stay at Porcupine Bay. Rick and Cheri, the camp hosts were so friendly and accomodating. They were great at keeping things under control at the campground but still allowed folks to have a good time. We always look forward to our stay here!
Really nice little campground:) no cellphone reception so the kids have to enjoy nature. They do have bathrooms and places for rv’s . Definitely bring TP as it’s limited. Beautiful campground.
I bet it is a great place when earlier in the season but definitely don’t go as it gets later in the summer. We left early due to the water being unsafe to swim in. It was green, smelled off, water was low, things growing out of it, and the ranger had mentioned he wouldn’t swim in it personally either. Additionally, the campsites are very cramped where there is no space between each other if you’re on number 8. No trees between and fireplaces are very close. At this time there was a fire restriction. We did try to walk down to another area to see if it was safe to swim and it was not. Also green and dirty mucky and smelly. There was no one swimming. Only people going out to boat. I wouldn’t book this spot. Last season, 2024, there was a swimmers itch outbreak. I wouldn’t be shocked if th
Spent a week there and had a great time. Went to hawk Creek to see the waterfall.
