Pine Cone Resort

We had such a great stay at Pine Cone Resort and absolutely loved our cabin experience. Robert and Priscilla were so helpful and welcoming from start to finish. The cabin is cozy, peaceful, and perfectly located—just about 10 minutes from downtown South Tahoe, but far enough away to truly unplug and enjoy the quiet. This is a true, classic cabin-in-the-woods experience (not a modern hotel like the Hyatt), and that’s exactly what we were looking for. The charm is in its character—fireplace on, listening to the wind through the trees, morning walks by the lake—pure magic. It’s also a great spot if you work remotely, letting you get your work done while still soaking in the cabin and nature vibes. Being pet-friendly was a huge bonus for us since our pets are family and made the stay even more

In July, we moved our business to Nevada and were so blessed to find the Pine Cone Resort in Zephyr Cove! It’s like stepping back in time; a vintage throwback with all the rustic Tahoe charm you could dream of. Our cabin apartment is warm, cozy, and tucked right in the middle of nature bringing the perfect balance of peace and convenience. The staff is absolutely amazing. Robert, the owner, and his right-hand Shannon, run the resort with genuine care and top-notch hospitality ! They make you feel like family from day one. And the location couldn’t be better….only minutes to Nevada Beach, Zephyr Cove Beach, Stateline, and all the great restaurants and shops. We are beyond grateful to have found this hidden Tahoe gem! Extra perks are kayaks and snow shoes to use in season!

Cozy, pet friendly spot in a good location with friendly, helpful staff. We like to stay here when we come to south lake tahoe now as it's away from the crowds but close enough to run in to town in no time. We like that it's more affordable than a cabin but has much better amenities than a hotel room. Fireplace is super cozy and the kitchen really helps with flexibility at meal times. Having the safeway nearby is great.

I was looking for a cozy affordable Airbnb a few days before my trip, and Pine Cone Resort did not disappoint. I checked in after business hours, but the self check-in process was very easy. There was easy parking right in front of my room. The room itself had a hot shower, a kitchenette, and a nice little fireplace. Firewood was not provided but I picked some up from the nearby Safeway. It was a great resting point for me to go hike and explore east Lake Tahoe. Would go again! My only gripe was that the shower handles were a bit difficult to control and would leak unless you firmly tightened them.

This is a very cute place. Robert who manages the hotel is very caring and helpful. He gave us very detailed instructions on how to get there and waited after hours to ensure we were able to check in and settle down properly. The room itself has lot of sleeping space with additional pillows and blankets. They also have strong heating and a smart tv. The location is also very close to south lake tahoe and stateline’s heavenly shops. A 24hr open Safeway is also less than a mile away which was great. The kitchenette in the room was fully stocked with utensils, silverware, coffee, nespresso machine
