Pietown Free Camping

Lots of dispensed camp sites. Dirt roads are a little rough and many low hanging branches can be a hazard. Otherwise a nice free campsite either a 7-day limit.

I did car camping in a kia with low profile tires and I made it in and out with no problems whatsoever. The community was quiet and respectful, clean, there's even a little library on the road to exchange books! I'm looking forward to March 14! Oh now I'm a pozole lover, I was already sold on the chili peppers.

Cool area, a little dirty. Obviously some of the users aren’t familiar with “leave no trace”, but for a free campground I can’t complain. I gathered firewood off the ground. The dirt is pretty loose getting in, so be prepared if you’re on a motorcycle. You could walk to The Gathering Place for pie and food

Awesome place to stop. Came in during the night. Hosed the mud off my bike, took a shower, and camped at free camping. Next morning had an awesome breakfast burrito ans New Mexico apple pie at Does and Bucks.

Free dispersed campsite in town. Lots of trees and shade , some picnic tables here and there. The dirt roads are a bit rutted,but easy enough for my transit van. Quiet and litter free. Shady areas and dark skys. Free camping and pie restaurants is about all that is here. Great free spot!!!
