Picketwire Lodge & Store

This place has great ambience and excellent food! The proprietors are very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed conversation and lighthearted banter on local topics and personal experiences of other local amenities.

Nice place to stop when you are taking the Hwy 12, Highway of Legends cruise. Neat souvenir store with a small breakfast and lunch menu. In house BBQ and from what I read on FB, he's now doing breakfast as well on the regular. I had a chopped beef sandwich and it was OK. Total was $14 and some change for the sandwich and a small bag of chips. I've had better but it's not a fair comparison as I am from Texas, lol. Next time I will try a 2 or 3 meat plate to try out more of Bill's BBQ since it seems he is expanding his menu. ||Beautiful views in all directions and wildlife (lots of hummingbirds) you expect to see in the Rocky Mountains. So if you are taking the drive on HWY 12, take a minute to stop in and check out the Picketwire Store in Stonewall, CO.

Really enjoyed this place, what a gem. Best front porch scene and speed in the area. Wonderful people running the place.

There is no better place to stay in southern Colorado. The owners are so kind, the place is friendly and accommodating, all nestled in the most beautiful valley in Colorado. Highly recommend! And get a scoop of Picketwire Trails ice cream while you’re there. Amazing!
