Palmquist Farm

Palmquist Farm is my favorite place. Helen, Jim, and the staff do a wonderful job making you feel welcome and like family. The three home cooked meals are delicious, and we always enjoy the sauna, skiing/hiking, and just relaxing in the cabins. It’s a great place to get away, destress, and just be present. I also enjoy all the fires in the fireplaces in the cabins and public buildings. The Palmquists have thought of everything to make it a perfect place to disconnect and enjoy. Highly recommend.

This was my first time at the farm and will not be the last . What a wonderful stay .The cabin was very comfortable and the food was spectacular . Mostly the hosts Jim and Helen and friends and staff as well as other grouse hunters made this trip a wonderful experience .The forests of the N woods of Wisconsin are beautiful in the fall and there is so much public land to choose from . This will rate as one of my most memorable hunting trips of my life.

Much to be said regarding the food, people and atmosphere. All in the most positive way. One couldn't ask for better hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals and found others that were there as impressed as we were. Red House, with the fireplace, was a simply charming way for us to spend our 40th Anniversary

On April 22, 2025, I made a reservation at Palmquist Farm for a Christmas trip for my wife’s Christmas present. I reserved the Maki House for December 27-30, 2025. I submitted the reservation and paid a $500+ deposit. The Palmquists sent me a Reservation Confirmation that same day (Copy attached. Personal info redacted).|Last Saturday, three months after my reservation was confirmed, I received a call from Helen Palmquist. She advised me that one of their “regular customers” wanted to stay at the farm at the same time. She told me that she was going to move my wife and I from the Maki House that we had reserved, to the tiny little cabin.|I told Helen, that I had reserved the Maki House three months ago. This is a winter wonderland. The hiking trails are gorgeous and the sauna is refreshing! My girlfriend and I spent two nights here and didn’t want to leave! Wish we had spent more time! Helen and Jim provide the best hospitality and the best cooking.
