Pakatakan Motel

This is a small place, a little off the road, but worth finding! Very nice people and the rooms are clean. We are talking motel rooms, so expect spartan, not luxury. However, they have added nice touches like microwaves, refrigerators, free wifi and bottled water. Great place for hikers and skiers who are just looking for the basics at the end of an active day.

Stayed at this motel this past weekend. To say it was the WORST place I have ever stayed is an understatement! The room we stayed in was filthy! There was mold on the carpet below the mini refrigerator, burn holes on the carpet, as well as bottle caps from a previous stay. The bathroom was tiny, outdated, and the shower was moldy. We didn't even feel comfortable taking off our shoes and walking on any of the floors. The icing on the cake with our stay was the morning we woke up there. The water smelled like rotten eggs, and I could not get the shower to work properly, so thankfully, gave up. My husband managed to get the water to work, only to have the running water turn BLACK after being in the shower for a few minutes. (Black is not an exaggeration, as the picture I am posting wa

rooms are comfortable but there are no thermostats so u have to call to ask to raise the heat. they did raise when we asked. also well water is used and sulfur is added to sterilize it, so expect the water to have a bit of a smell. the rooms are well kept and the prices are reasonable.

Come for the value, stay for the luxurious bedding! Easy to call up and book a room though I do wish there was an online method of doing so. Rooms have unsecured Wifi and a USB charging point on the bedsides would have been greatly appreciated. Otherwise can't complain!

Well, I have to admit when we pulled into the driveway, we almost backed out. Glad I didn't. I do love the older, vintage motels of the 40s and 50s as long as they are kept up to date and this one did not disappoint. It was simple but very clean and the air conditioner actually worked! It did not wreak of smoke or any other odd odors which for me is a big plus. The only 'complaint' I have is that they really need a ramp or extra step to get up on the deck leading to the room. The chairs and trash can on the deck makes it difficult for those of us using a cane and it is too easy to slip off the side. A railing would definitely help.
