I made the reservation an hour before arrival. Done this many times at other places with no issue. Show up and no one in the office, ring bell twice and call and get an answering machine. As I was contacting hotels.com support, someone shows up (about 15 minutes) The guy running the place was cleaning rooms. (Apparently doesn't have phone with him) Try to check in and he finally finds the reservation. Says that he doesn't have the room we booked available right now. (1 queen bed) I asked about giving us another room and because it was a $20 difference in price, he said no. He would finish the room he was cleaning and clean ours next, so come back in an hour. Check in time is 3pm and that's when we were there. It was a bit inconvenient as we had wanted to check in before going to

Bar Mel Inn is an amazing place! Very clean, comfy beds, super staff... very quite!!! We enjoyed this stay more than any hotel we have EVER stayed in. We go to Clark's Hill fishing alot and had always stayed in another place. But we decided to try this one because of wonderful reviews! EVERY BIT IS TRUE!!!! We were amazed at how clean the whole room was. Door frames were not even dirty! Bathroom was super clean, the walls didn't have black smudge on them. The carpet was fresh and clean. ( you can tell when carpet is grungy!!) It did not stink in the room... and the price was perfect!! Couldn't have ask for a better stay!!!! To us, it is definitely a 5 star!!!!! WOW, WE WERE SO PLEASED!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR AN AMZING STAY!!!!

Affordable,but old, smashed roaches all over the walls:( if I wasn't so tired I would have found somewhere else. Also no coffee maker.
