I did not visit the motel. I accessed the park. Lawn is maintained, restrooms available but I did not use them, picnic tables and small covered area available. Dog friendly with leash requirement and a boat launch area
7.18.25) I drop in whenever I'm in Oroville just to sit awhile and enjoy the park. I go up to the rodeo at Chesaw every 3rd (dance) and 4th of July (rodeo,) then down to Oroville to the lake to watch the fireworks displays around the park, some are private citizens some are larger displays put on by area interests. There is a kayak rental. A nice camping area. A nice cordoned off swimming area at lakeside. A boat ramp. Restroom area. Nice amount of room to play.
This is a nice county campground, formerly a state park, with open (no trees or divisions) sites. The interior sites have water and electric hookups. The exterior sites, including those along the lake, do not have services at the site. I actually could not find any water faucets except at the hookup sites or inside the bathroom at the sink. |We stayed along the lake and that is lovely as you can set up your chair to view the lake and it feels a little more private. |The bathroom has flush toilets and cold water sinks. There are showers, but I did not use them. |There is a day use area that has a swimming beach. |This looks like a great family campground with lots of lake activity options. Also good for a one-night travel stop as the sites are easy to back a trailer into. Road noi
An absolutely beautiful and well maintained park. Lots of lawn and large trees for shade. We didn’t visit the restroom facilities so I’m unable to comment on them. We would recommend this park and would come again.
Great location. We arrived on a Monday and found the Park at 99% capacity. Honor system on check in - not an issue for us as we had a prepaid reservation. Roads were easy to navigate. Backed into our site through some trash from the site next to us. They were apparently at the water and had left everything out and with the wind, plates, cups, etc, were blowing into our site and around the Park. Bit shocked when they returned they made no attempt to pick their trash up. Over night the wind picked up and everything loose at their site was scattered around the Park. Again, no attempt to clean up after themselves. We walked down by the water and noticed EVERY SINGLE TRASH CAN had overflowing trash which with the wind was being scattered everywhere. Some people are just stupid - there are a num
