Ortona Locks Campground - Corps of Engineers

Very clean well kept CoE campgrounds. Level site on concrete pad, bathrooms well kept. Kind of in the middle of Florida. Not much around. Town of LaBelle 12 minutes away. No fishing right now, pier in need of repair. Campgrounds gates lock after 4pm open 7:30, but you can still get in. This is a good campground. It's like it's sister site, Franklin CG on the waterway. I like Franklin a little better. Fishing is very good there. Both very quite. Had ok service on Verizon.

Well maintained, awesome camping! Very peaceful setting right along river. Will definitely return! Loved waking up to the bird songs in the morning. We enjoyed watching the alligators in the water, as long as they stayed in the water😬

Very nice, small campground. Very spacious sites, concrete pads that are level with water/electric hookup (dump station on way out). Has a nice 1-2 mile paved road into the campground that is a really nice bike ride. Extremely friendly staff that provided outstanding customer service. Our last night there, the area lost power. Camp hosts visited every site and informed us to turn water off as the water pump was not working without electricity and that the water purifier was not working, so to boil water for consumption. We always carry a little fresh water in our water tank, so this did not pose us any issues. We will definitely be back if in the area.

Beautiful and imaculate. A nice quiet place to sit and watch the birds and boats. The federal park is very well kept,and the sites are concrete pads with gravel under the covered picnic tables. The sites are angled so you do not see the RV next to you.perfect for a fishing pole. About 8-1/2 miles to town of LaBelle. Great place to unwind.

We love this campground. It is a piece off the road, but not bad. Off the locks, so lots of boats go through here. Good fishing , open for anyone to fish off the docks. Picnic areas covered. Paved RV lots, paved roads. They need to trim the banks though, hard to see the water traffic especially on front end. Rv lots are spacious, fire pits. Bath house kept clean one on each end. Reserve early, fills up quickly. Quiet at night except for some dogs barking, ugh.
