Omro Motel

Let me start by qualifying the title: if, like me and my friends, you were stuck with no place to stay within a reasonable distance of the EAA Airventure, then you have no choice if this is the only place available. But if you have a choice, and until the owners bring this motel up to a reasonable standard, then cross it off your list. ||Omro is a great little town of some 3000 people, picturesquely situated on the banks of the Fox river and immaculately maintained by the city. It's only a 20 minute drive from the EAA, and has a worthy little diner where the food and service is great. But the town is let down by this Motel.||I had one of the larger units with kitchenette. I would like to agree with the people who have positive things to say about the owners of this establishment. They are very sweet welcoming and have intentions on giving you somewhere to stay whether it be for the night traveling or even a place to live especially for when times are hard. I have been staying here for weeks and I have to say I am glad I decided to continue my stay here. They don't claim to have this big hotel that's better than the Hilton they however offer you what they have for a reasonable price and their honest about things which is how you're supposed to be when you run a business. We stayed at this motel in 2013 during the Airventure. Our experience was anything but the other person described. Yes it is a family owned motel, very small and only ten minutes away from the air show. It is not a five star hotel and I do not believe that they advertise it being a five star. For the price during the show, it's one of the better deals that we got. The family who owns this place are very friendly and will go to distance to make you feel welcome. It is not a rundown place. They keep it clean. Again, it is not a Hilton but it is also not a dump. We met four other families who has been coming there for years. We will be staying there again in 2014.

Brother is staying there till can find apartment. $800 month don't even furnish toilet paper. Refrigerator was frosted up floor not vacuumed. People that live there are questionable.

This place is a joke. If it was inspected by the healthdept. it would be shut down in a heart beat. The showers in most of the room have mold on the walls, I asked the owners if they could replace the dry wall in the shower and all they did screwed the back to the walls and chaulk the seems. The floor around the toilets are so rotted that you might just fall through the floor. The prices are so outragous that they steal you blind these are not woorth what they ask way to much. Cockroaches are in what they call there apartments, there are so many of them the even orkin can not get rid of them.
