Ocean Pond Campground

This is a phenomenal place to experience camping in Osceola National Forest and the beautiful meteorite lake of Ocean Pond. We tent camped and had one of the best camping trips ever. This camp is laid back and time seems to slow hear. The pines sway in the breezes and the frogs chirp away at night. I found this camp to be peaceful and the water in ocean pond relaxing and refreshing. The other campers were very friendly and rangers helped us throughout our stay since it was our first time camping here and a learning curve. Park staff works hard to keep this camp clean and safe. Forest service does an excellent job in Osceola and we will be returning next year for a weeks camping. WOW! We are on our leg of the FL State tour we took this past month and this stop was essentially just a stop on the way back after visiting all the tropical paradises we could. I did not expect this to be the perfect campsite! The grand finale is amazing- Ocean Pond Campground in the Osceola National Forest. The sites are far apart from each other. Level. All hook ups work as they should but trust me some parks don’t! Stunning views and it appears whatever site you pick you’ll get something beautiful to look at. I think I picked one of the best spots, site 16. Large, a little sandy beach area just to the back of our site. Clean. Almost directly across a bathroom/ shower/ laundry area. Yes! I would have given Ocean Pond a better review because of the great location and nice RV electric sites. The low star is based on the fact that the USFS has placed ridiculously bright lights on all four walls of the bathhouse on all which illuminates the entire damn campground. We go camping with our teardrop to get away from bright city lights, not being surrounded by them.

Great location. Good hike trails. Dog friendly. Dumpsters for trash. Pet waste stations. Large - private campsites, we had #26 first week & #9 second week. Reserve site on Rec dot gov site, no longer 1st come options. Fire wood is - bring saw/axe & pull any all dead / downed trees to your site & have at it the camp hosts advised, non for sale precut. Running water & electricity sites, just water sites, and primitive sites available. Flush toilets, $1.75 load washer/dryers and sinks available. Not 5 Stars, cause the bathrooms & Showers were all locations never cleaned the full 2 weeks we were there (not sure who’s job that is?) Showers have Luke warm to hot for a few minutes, then turn cold quickly, so be ready before turn on & shower fast! Also these showers have filthy walls/floors covere

This is my go-to campground! You do not need to reserve a site, as they are first come first served. There are plenty of campsites ranging from water+electric to primitive. There is a bath house that is in good condition, and there are also bathrooms nearby. The campsites are in good repair.
