Customer Reviews
As a boater, we stopped at Port Clyde and went to breakfast at Ocean House. Service was slow and one of our party was given white toast instead of wheat which we had ordered. They wouldn’t replace it. We asked for WI-FI password since Port Clyde reception is poor and was refused. Bad hospitality!
A wonderful harbor town. Not too crowded. The hupper room was very clean and had a view from every window. There is no air conditioning and it’s on the third floor. However, it gets cool enough at night to be very comfortable. There is a fan in the room which is helpful as well if you want it very cool. There’s fresh coffee downstairs in a lovely sitting room. The hotel is so unique because of its history. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very responsive and so we felt comfortable at all times. They even ran extra towels to us at 9pm! Overall I would give this place 5 stars and I would highly recommend it. I also recommend breakfast at the general store. We took the early ferry into Monhegan island which was the highlight of our stay.
We didn't stay here, but we did eat in the restaurant. The lobster grilled cheese sandwich was amazing! They have wonderful artwork to see while you wait.
Stopped for lunch with our dog. Sat on the front porch with a distant water view. Very tasty cranberry chicken salad sandwich.
Stayed at the Ocean House the evening before heading to Monhegan Island. Ocean House is a sister lodging to the Seaside Inn, which is across the street. The room the three of us shared was small, but comfortable and the hotel itself was clean and well kept. There was internet, which was consistent with what was available in the area since it is rather remote, but AT&T cell coverage was almost non-existent (just an FYI). The general store across the street is the only place available for breakfast, but it certainly was not disappointing. Great choices and prices of standard breakfast fare. If you are taking the ferry to Monhegan Island, it is 50 yards from the front door. I would definitely stay there again if I decide to return. Another note, specific to Port Clyde and not connected
