Ocean Crest Resort

The hotel is right by the ocean, we had a view of the ocean from our room. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms, which I highly recommend. The negative reviews are about the rooms that haven't been renovated. |Love the balcony. I wish there were less trees blocking the view, they need to be trimmed. There are steps that lead to the beach, they are well maintained. The stairs are steep. I thought it would be tough going back up but it wasn't a problem at all. |We appreciated the quiet AC/heater unit in our room . We got a room on the top floor and it was super quiet. Overall first impressions were not great. Upon pulling up, we thought that we had the wrong address. We felt the photos & portrayl of the property felt somewhat misleading- Motel would be a better word to describe it, there isnt anything resort like about it. A lot of the buildings are in disrepair. The lobby had a strong cigarette smell. Room was quite dated. The view from the room and restaurant was really nice(definitely the best part of our stay). We ordered the panko captains platter and the portion size was a little disappointing, overall meal was nothing note worthy. Pool/hot tub area was nice.

Stayed for one night with an ocean view room. It was a good room with proper amenities. Love the stairs that take you down to the beach where you can walk your dog, fish for surf perch or dig for clams. The restaurant attached is 10/10. We both had the sockeye salmon and it was the best we’ve had. Will return and definitely recommend

the hotel is being renovated so some of the rooms are dated but if you’re into vintage style stuff (which I am) it’s cool. The pool and hot tub are great and the rooms are clean. Didn’t get to eat at the restaurant and can’t speak for the food. I was here off season and the price is reasonable. The only complaint I had is the check in area smelled like cigarettes.
