Oasis Lake Buchanan

I stayed in Oasis’ RV unit while on a Christmas hiking trip with my 75 year old mom and our dogs. The camper was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with every necessity you could imagine. Check in and out were both effortless. Sadly, this was my first vacation of the year. So, visiting here off season was perfect for us. It was peacefully quiet and relaxing, with plenty of space inside the camper and out to unwind and enjoy this getaway. However, I can well imagine the fun you could have in warmer weather with all the additional amenities they have to offer. Mom and I really want to go back for some kayaking! Lovely, small RV park right on the lake! not fancy-shmancy so wonderfully not over-crowded. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets with privacy at your own small beach. The concrete slabs are very level with great hook-ups. be sure to take advantage of the kayak rental. There is a fish cleaning station.

This place was perfect for us. Decent boat ramp, reasonable pet charge. Management that is very accommodating but not in your business or constantly over your shoulder. With the lake full again the water is a few steps out your door. I hope the lcra let's Buchanan keep it's water for awhile they deserve it. Thanks Josh

Location had a good view but that evening sun eliminates you being able to sit outside. There is a spider and ant problem which the owner said he is taking care of it. We bought $40 of ant repellent which worked but at our expense. So I guess he is not trying to stop the insect issues. When I say ants I mean you can’t sit on the porch without getting them up on your shoulders. These don’t run in a single file line, their trails are an inch wide until disturbed and they cover the porch. You can’t get away. Fact! The fish cleaning station did not have enough pressure to spray the sprayer hose across the sink. He couldn’t provide a spare water hose so we bought a water hose and makeshifted good pressure. Great little private oasis with waterfront property right behind the cabins, your rv or their single rv rental with private boat ramp not open to the public. They also have kayak rentals and host a waterfall trip on the lake. We stayed in their rv rental twice and the only draw back is little ants the first time so cover and store all food at all times.
