Oakland Valley Campground

Our friends who we were traveling with booked two nights at this campground based on reviews. The five-star reviews left here DO NOT match what we encountered.|We own a 34 ft fifth wheel and our friends have a 35 ft Class A.|The driveway leading into the campground needs serious site work. It's actually dangerous - unpaved, rutted, very rocky, numerous potholes. It slopes sharply downhill to the office where you then make a tight left turn to head to the rv sites.|Very poor first impression. The office/store is cluttered and smells very strongly of mold. |When checking in, the (I assume) owner informed us that, due to a heavy storm the night before, she had to move our sites. This place is a gem! We had such a wonderful time. When we first arrived the owner suggested site 322 instead of the site we had picked. She was sooooo correct. The site is huge and full shade! Close to the pool and a short walk down the campground road to the river. This place is like heaven on earth! Even walking through the campground on the road felt like a hike in the woods. The owner is very friendly and kind. I highly recommend this campground. The roads driving around the campground are a rough but honestly we didnt mind at all. Still the best campsite/campground we have been to! Wonderful wifi which was an unexpected surprise. Such a relaxing, beautiful, and peaceful place to visit. Grab a Benny’s pizza just down the road at some point. Yummy!

What a great vacation spot! We were so happy with the beautiful views, relaxed atmosphere, and clean facilities. We decided to get a seasonal site & are very excited about staying there again!!!

I usually primitive or disperse camp, so in this case I had a beautiful riverside campsite with water and electric. Nice pluses but not really a game changer. After Labor Day weekend the campground was chill. Beautiful forest and quality trout water right outside your tent. |I don’t tow or travel in a big rig so rutted, rocky, muddy roads are not a hindrance. In fact they are a usual result of my camping preferences. In the case of Oakland, their roads are better than the kind of roads I usually encounter. |I met a couple of seasonal campers who were very nice. Kristy and Landon were great hosts and Stephen was very helpful.

My dad and I take an annual camping trip to a different state every year and this place was amazing. We had the perfect campsite right on the river and it was gorgeous! The site itself was flat but had lots of river rocks so make sure you bring a good thick pad to sleep on. Our site even had running water and an electrical outlet. Lots of hiking, cider mills, and lakes in the area! We can’t wait to go back!
