Oakcliff Bed and Breakfast

A nicely appointed and historical B&B on the Erie Canal, John & Pam have done a wonderful job restoring and furnishing this house with beautiful antiques. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed chatting with John and Pam and look forward to a future stay.

Stayed here 5 days and it was wonderful. It was really cool seeing this historical house. John is extremely knowledgeable and loved sharing (ask him about the piano, it's really cool.) John and Pam also had tons of tips for places to eat and things to do. Breakfasts were delicious and spot on. Beds were comfy and they had AC in the bedrooms! (I don't think President Grant had it that good.) I spent many hours sitting in the back, reading and watching the river - peaceful and utterly relaxing. Location was pretty central but still away from the town. Most places we visited were about 10-20 minute drive.

The historic significance of having 4 past US Presidents in the house was fantastic! The period furniture is eclectic. The view was amazing, especially with the moonlight reflecting on the river. Sleeping on a real feather bed was Awesome. The breakfast was really good, we recommend the pancakes! Step back in time and enjoy the house, the furnishings, the view and the hospitality!

The hosts were wonderful, giving us excellent advice on places to see in the area. The accommodations were lovely and breakfast was amazing! The house has been painstakingly restored to its original grandeur of the 1800’s, and each piece of furniture is an original antique. They also have a beautifully eclectic art collection which adds to the character of this gorgeous home, not to mention the best views in the area!

I went to Saratoga over Labor Day Weekend with my wife and my brother and his wife.||We stayed at the Oakcliff Bed and Breakfast in Waterford. My wife and had stayed here by chance once before and wanted my brother and his wife to share in this excellent experience. John and Pam have an amazing house with hospitality to match. Visiting the Oakcliff BnB is like going back in time and experiencing a wonderful dream over again. US Presidents have stayed there, (4 to be exact), The ambiance that the hosts and the home provides are worth the trip from anywhere.
