Oak Grove Inn

I’m leaving this review to help future guests set expectations. I fully understand this is a budget hotel, and I booked it with that mindset. I’m not someone who expects high-end finishes or extra amenities at this price. That said, “budget” shouldn’t mean the basics are overlooked, and this stay felt like cleanliness and simple upkeep have not been getting the attention they need. The issues weren’t complicated — just the kind of routine cleaning and maintenance items that should be caught regularly. When those small things add up, it creates an overall impression that the property isn’t being cared for, and it takes away from the value of the stay. Central to all the fun stuff and the family that owns it is very sweet and hard working . They had little Jesus figures to give away in the lobby . I'll definitely come back here next time we visit Branson. Breakfast was real decent as well. Free is always a delicious 😋

I would leave zero stars if able to! We booked two rooms (2 adults & 1 child in one and 2 adults & 2 children in another) through American Forces Travel (both my husband and dad are disabled veterans) for our daughter's 7th birthday trip. We booked it with the kids included. When we went to check in at 8 pm, the lady at the front desk told us we needed to pay additional for each child. (They wanted to add $30+ per child for the night.) We told them no way, and I showed them my booking confirmation. They said their end didn't show the kids on it so it didn't matter what my end showed. After myself, my husband, and my dad all tried talking to them, they agreed to let us cancel the room with no charge. (We had tried to keep the rooms at the amounts our booking confirmation showed.) Not a big frills motel/hotel, but it is clean, the staff are friendly, beds comfortable and the breakfast has eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, coffee, waffles (got to have my waffles!), yogurt, hot chocolate and cappuccino from a machine, coffee etc. The only caveat is that there is a helicopter ride a very short distance away. You do hear the chopper landing and taking off all day. Didn't bother me, but I'm ex-military.

They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The rooms aren't fancy or updated, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. We felt safe and it wasn't loud. Great value when you're on a budget.
