Nottingham Place Wise

Two of us stayed at the beautiful Nottingham Place home for 2 nights for a fun birthday trip in a stunning setting. The room we stayed in (Victorian spa en suite) was beautiful, roomy, and has so much character. There were snacks and drinks galore set out for us, a Keurig with lots of coffee options, a toaster and bagels, and shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and all the comforts in case we had forgotten something. Hosts Kim and Ben gave us a plethora of recommendations about what to do in the area, and we went on 2 of the hikes they recommended which were absolutely gorgeous. This place is AMAZING!! The Front Porch is so welcoming!! The rooms are awesome!! My husband and I have stayed here at least 6 times … Always feel welcome here from the very first visit . Kim just does an amazing job decorating this beautiful place … Ben & Kim do a wonderful job making you feel welcome here and they go above and beyond making sure there are amenities .. My husband, a previous longtime, resident of Big Stone Gap, booked the room knowing that we would be in town for the Fourth of July festivities. We arrived early in order to spend some time exploring Nottingham Place, and i'm so glad we did! Not only is this historic home beautifully decorated guests, are left with nothing to want. We particularly loved spending time on the porch enjoying the wine that we brought with us. We can't wait to come back!

A wonderful experience! Our host, Kim, contacted me before our trip to arrange everything to my preference - even breakfast and snack items! I felt welcome even before I arrived. My room, the Queen suite, was gorgeous as was the entire house. Kim and Ben and their so friendly three cats made me feel comfortable and at home right away. When what began as a vacation visit to my eldest brother, who lives in Wise, turned into multiple serious medical procedures for him, I had to extend my stay twice. Kim and Ben were so flexible, and they even made multiple adjustments to accommodate one of my other brothers who came to help our eldest brother recover. I had to make a business trip to UVa-Wise recently and opted to spend the night at Nottingham Place the night before to avoid a drive in the morning. Ben and Kim are fantastic hosts and the accommodation was luxurious and comfortable. Special touches that stuck out in my mind - the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, a separate sitting area where I was able to visit with the hosts and enjoy an evening snack (not forced - I gratefully accepted the offer) and ample bottled water to stay hydrated both upon arrival and before departing the next morning. I will absolutely stay here the next time I have the opportunity to visit Wise.
