The Sundance Nordic Center is a great place to enjoy winter activities in a beautiful setting. I’ve been here during the colder months, and the trails are well maintained and easy to enjoy. The atmosphere feels calm and scenic, which makes the experience even better. It’s a nice option if you enjoy cross-country skiing or snowshoeing and want something a little quieter than busier resorts. Everything feels organized and welcoming. A great way to enjoy the mountains in winter.

A bit hard to find, being on the edge of the resort, but well worth it. Great staff to help me with rentals in an unassuming yurt, No problem exchanging my skis for another set that suited me better after a loop. Outer loop is 5 k, beautiful views. Single classic and narrowish skate track, not difficult.

Be aware that driving here when it is snowing will potentially require 4 wheel drive and chains. The last bit to get to this place is windy and a one car road with some pullouts. This is a very friendly and great Nordic ski place. Within the mountains the trails are sometimes hilly which can be hard for beginners. The group lessons are great and I really appreciated the help and attention to detail. They are super friendly and I’m looking forward to coming back!

Dislike: Hard to find, even with Google maps. GPS took us to the Sundance spa, and the front desk staff was able to help us find our way (can’t remember the directions now, though). I wish it was easier to find. Lastly, you’re not supposed to walk on the skiing indents, but with clunky snow shoes and the way the snow shoeing trail is designed to go, it was near impossible not to step on them. Likes: Nice paper maps and info about the area to read if desired. The yurt is warm and the employees there are very helpful. We brought our own hear, so no input on renting equipment from them. Also liked how long the trail was for snow shoes and the red ribbons and reflectors tied to trees to help you know where to go. Would’ve like more markers more often.

Such a great gem so close to the city. The people working here are so knowledgeable and kind, I feel very confident using their equipment. The trails are gorgeous among the mountains, so quiet and breathtakingly beautiful.
