Newport City Inn and Suites

Unfortunately we won’t be going back. While location is central to town, the room had a urine odor and was not clean, puke on second floor balcony that was there for days and dripped down to parking lot, and despite putting room service request sign on door no room service was given. When asked at checkout about room service apparently you have to fill out paperwork to get it which was not told to us at check in. (Why have door knob signs for service then?) Requested refund, even if small portion and was told no. Person at desk offered no sympathy or concern for the not ideal stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights while looking at land in the area. I was impressed by the cleanliness and excellent condition of the rooms and property. The owners are clearly investing both time and money. Staff were always visible and available, and very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool and hot tub were crystal clear and clean. I can easily recommend staying here.

If you're ever in the Newport area and you want a less expensive room right in town then the Newport City inn & suites is the place to go. I've stayed here twice for a total of four nights. The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and very well maintained.

We stayed in the Jay Peak suite, which was spacious and comfortable overall. Unfortunately, the major drawback was the blackout curtains—they were ineffective at blocking the bright light from the massive “Newport City Motel” sign directly outside the room. The light noticeably impacted our ability to sleep, which was disappointing given the otherwise nice accommodations. Improving the window coverings would make a big difference to the guest experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights while we skied at Jay. Rooms were exactly what we needed and the beds were better than expected. The hotel was very clean and had one of the few pools at a hotel that I would consider swimming in. I'd say here if passing through Newport again.
