Navajo Ski lodge

One of the best ski resorts for families with young children, Brian Head’s Navajo Lodge has become one of our favorite winter destinations. It’s an incredibly welcoming and family-friendly mountain, with gentle terrain, well-organized lifts, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for beginners, intermediates and specially kids. This is where my daughter learned to ski, which makes it especially meaningful for our family. The instructors are patient and encouraging, and the wide, smooth runs at Navajo are ideal for building confidence. Every New Year’s, we spend a full week here enjoying everything the lodge and mountain have to offer from the beautiful scenery and well-groomed trails to the cozy lodge and convenient amenities. The Senior Ticketing Manager (didn’t grab her name!) was extremely kind and understanding with our ticket questions and concerns, she helped us out so much, and in effect we had an incredible time. I highly recommend the costumer service here including at the rentals bar as well. Everyone was so kind and helpful! They went above and beyond.

This was only 2 minutes from Brian Head Lodge so that was great for us! The rental staff was super fast and effective. Highly recommend getting your rentals the day before and your lift ticket. Staff at the ticket counter were friendly. Get there early for closer parking to the lift and to ski without lines for a good hour or so. The lift operators had a good system for scanning and getting people on quickly. The trails are beautiful and we had a great time. The lodge itself was small but their soup and chili were delicious 😋. No fireplace inside but that would have been a bonus. Overall we were very happy with our 2 day ski trip.

Was very disappointed to spend so much on Hotel, travel, lift tickets and rentals for my family only for the main lift to be closed for several hours. I asked for a credit for future visit and Cam, manager at tickets, response was she cant give away free tickets if I rode the loft already and to just stay on the beginner/training loop (which was slammed with wait times) or go figure out how to do blues and blacks on the other side. I explained we just learned and cant go to the other side so she recommended my only option was to stay on the beginner loop. Very disappointed. Overall the it would have been nice if we could've have actually spend the day we paid for there. Rentals and lift tickets are not cheap to be told to wait, wait in line or stay on a little slope.

DO NOT BRING KIDS. In general, good experience however, be AWARE of SNOWBOARDERS if you plan to bring your family. Some snowboarders do not follow rules while descending, so I would not recommend it for kids (I visited with my family). I got hit by a snowboarder with his board and directly in the head (my helmet is broken) while I was skiing behind my kids precisely to protect them. And no, we were not slowing traffic on any way.
