Nantasket Beach Resort

This is an older hotel that has been dressed up as modern, but it does have a bit of that old hotel near the water scent in the lobby. My first night, the fireplace in my room didn’t work. It sounds dumb, but I was really looking forward to that. They send someone up but couldn’t get it fixed. My towels had a lot of makeup stains and there was hair in the shower (not mine). The next morning I realized how stained the underside of my duvet was once the sunlight hit it. They did a thorough clean of my room and had the fireplace working when I was gone for the day. My second and third nights were much more pleasant. What it lacked in room ambience, it more than made up for in location, service and food quality. The aesthetic is great a fireplace in the room however I go away to escape from cooking, cleaning and making my bed daily. This adventure failed me this stay. I have stayed before and was very pleased.

Positive: Location, fireplace in room. Negative: Pool was closed, there were no coffee mugs or tea in the room. There was coffee downstairs in the morning, but no lids. No tea offered, so i had to spend $6 across the street at the bakery for one (good bakery, though!)

Booked our wedding block at NBR. We never spoke with the same representative more than once. Our guests complained of a confusing booking process. When it came to the weekend itself, guests who were not part of our group were noisy, and we were placed in the room across from the vending machine. If I slept at all, it wasn't more than 2 hours... the night before my wedding. So that this doesn't just seem like an entitled cry for attention: the women working the desk when we checked in were above and beyond our expectations. They were courteous, proactive, and insightful. The beach views are lovely, even in a MA winter. The in-room fireplaces are a lovely atmospheric touch. Great location however the road right infront of the hotel is really busy, and instead of listening to the waves you end up listening to the car engines. Very disappointing. The hotel itself may have been nice at one point. Now it's in need of renovation. The floors sqeek badly especially the 3rd floor, the carpets don't get vacuumed much, if at all. The bathroom shower floor is in desperate need of a good scrub, the pool area is old and dated. The staff are very nice but even when you request some kind of repair, or a service to your room, they never follow up. I asked for someone to check on the HVAC in my room, and the next day I asked for someone to check the bad noise the bathroom fan started making, and neither request was followed up.
