MW Bar Ranch

We stayed two nights in the separate cabin, which was very comfortable and had all the kitchen items we needed to prepare our own dinners. Breakfasts with Mary Ann and Lawrence, and the other guests, was a great opportunity to visit and learn about the area. Lawrence and Mary Ann are great sources of information and entertaining stories. The fishing in the Rio Costilla (about 5 miles upstream) was good. The main house is beautiful, with two nice rooms upstairs. MW is a great base for any trip to the Valle Vidal and surrounding area.

What a wonderful setting, comfortable accommodations and gracious hosts! We enjoyed a late fall weekend stay with Mary Ann and Lawrence in their spacious cabin set at the edge of the Rio Costilla and the Valle Vidal wilderness areas. The crisp fall air, vibrant changing colors of the trees, and the cozy cabin with its wood-burning stove provided a romantic get-away. The cabin is well appointed, and we were able to cook a fine meal in the cabin kitchen with all the utensils and cooking supplies we needed. We enjoyed sumptuous breakfasts with our hosts and explored the area which included ample opportunities to fish for the native Rio Grande Cutthroat trout. We were also able to fish on the private stretch of the Rio Costilla that runs through the MW Bar Ranch. Highly recommended for a relax

My family and I stayed in their cabin the week after Christmas. This place and our hosts FAR exceeded our expectations and hopes for the perfect mountain get a way! We arrived with about 8 inches of snow on the ground and they had the path clear, the fire place going, and a whole pile of wood ready! Mrs Mary Ann and Mr Lawrence treated us like family and went well out of their way to make us feel at home! The cabin itself is amazing, from the southwest decorations, wood burning heater, very well equipped kitchen, and other nice furnishings to include books and magazines. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us tips about things to do. The river that runs through the property is nothing short of perfect which serves as a trout fishing stream as well as a watering h

Mary Ann and Lawrence are the ideal B&B Innkeepers, friendly from the moment you meet them,||interested and interesting. Lawrence can tell some great stories. The breakfast and available||dinner is not only prepared by them but shared with them which makes the stay special.||The Inn is their home and every detail is wonderful. The location is gorgeous with a 2nd story||back porch over looking the meadow and cliffs above their private stretch of river.||My fishing buddy and I planned on grilling our own dinner one night and we had free run of||their kitchen.||Access to all that the Valle Vidal has to offer is right out the door.||Highly recommended.
