Mountain View Lodges

The best host family anyone could look for when thinking of where to get away. I can't recommend mountain view lodges enough. The cabin was lovely, views are spectacular, and at the doorstep of the porkies. While I forgot my snowshoes at home I walked up the road towards the park every night.

The location of Mountain View Lodges is perfect for a visit to the Porcupine Mountains. The state park entrance is minutes away. Right on the lake, the location is quiet and picturesque. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. The cabins are very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. All the necessary amenities are provided. The overall feel was relaxing and laid back, at least in September. One may find less expensive places to stay but Mountain View is well worth the cost.

We loved our stay here so much. The beach was warm for Superior in August) and so beautiful. We also enjoyed walking down the shore and finding other gems. The cabin was simple but bigger and nicer than I expected from my childhood resort experiences. We cooked meals and the screened in porch is lovely. The swings for sunsets are a very nice touch. The owners are new and asked for feedback. When we gave them some ideas, they reached out and asked for our preferences. They are looking to be the best they can. My family loved our stay here and I think we'll be back

We stayed for two nights and loved our cabin. The views on Lake Superior are fantastic and we enjoyed the swings very much. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the cabin feels spacious. A special treat were the Northern Lights on our second night. Those are of course not guaranteed but the star gazing is amazing as the resort keeps light pollution to a minimum. We will certainly come back! The location is a great gateway to the Porcis almost directly at the entrance.

We stayed here many years ago, and I just happened to come upon this place again while browsing the UP. Happy to see it's still popular and kept in great condition. I believe it was quite new when we were there. Very spacious and quiet with a location very close to fun outdoor adventures.
