Mount Peter Ski Area

I recently visited Mount Peter Ski Area as a complete beginner and took private lessons, and overall I had a really positive experience. As someone brand new to skiing, I appreciated how small and unintimidating the mountain felt. It’s not a huge resort, which actually made it less overwhelming and perfect for learning. The instructor were patient, clear, and encouraging during my private lesson, and I felt much more confident by the end of the day. The lift lines were manageable, and I liked that I could get multiple runs in without waiting too long. The atmosphere felt friendly and local rather than crowded or chaotic. Weeeeeeeeeeee….. We went tubing this past Sunday and we had sooooo much fun. Everything was amazing and perfect in every way. They really have it down to a science so that everyone has the maximum chance for fun and excitement. It was so well organized and clean and neat. The staff was pleasant plentiful and extremely helpful. The food court was simply delicious, surprisingly delicious. The coco was the best I’ve ever had. The waffles and chocolate is to die for. We’re coming back!!

Nice ski and tubing resort, about 1.5 hrs from NYC. Prices were affordable and offered for 1.5 hrs (we went in a family of 8 to do tubing). Tubing is offered in single and double seater sleds. Staff were helpful and friendly! Whole family, from 6 yrs old to adults, had a blast! They have hot refreshments for sale on site, and plenty of gravel parking. Helpful to have a vehicle with AWD / at least decent tires, if going after a snow storm (nearby area is slightly mountainous). They even have a small kids ride area with "ring-around" sleds (see picture). Great experience in all.

Great little hill for kids to learn on or for adults to get in a bit of practice before bigger things. The twilight ticket (entry after 3pm) is good value, and you can ski until 8!

Super fun! This was my first time snowboarding and this was the perfect place to learn! The staff everywhere were pleasant and helpful! Rentals were easy and quick which allowed a lot of time on the slopes. Can't wait to come back for more!!
