Mount Morris House NYC

We enjoyed our stay at the Mt Morris House which is great value for the money. We stayed on the top floor in a two bedroom suite. The place was decorated thoughtfully and with personal touches and cookies and chocolates are on offer daily. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are nearby as are subway stations. You're never more than a ~20 minute subway to just about anywhere in NYC. Mt Morris House is a walk-up with no elevator so it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. Finally, Peter is an absolute gem ... kind and responsive.

This is a beautiful old brownstone building in a quiet neighborhood. There are a few guest rooms /suites up a flight of stairs. The photos are representative of the vintage Victorian decor. I found the room spacious and comfortable.||The modern private bath was excellent and much larger than what one finds in city hotels. The property faces a park and there are many transportation options just steps away. The host is available by text and responds right away. I would definitely return.

These lovely suites are in a beautiful brownstone right near Marcus Garvey Park. Our host was very responsive if you have a question and the communication was excellent. (Rooms would not be "accessible.") The suite was clean and neat and there were plenty of towels and the bathroom was completely updated. There are lots of hangers, storage space, and towels. There are also reuseable water bottles, candy and homemade cookies in the entryway. You can walk to some great restaurants and a grocery stores are just a few blocks away. It's also pretty quiet so you aren't hearing all the city noise and sirens all the time. The subway is a few blocks away so you can get anywhere in the city. I would definitely stay at Mount Morris House when I return to NYC!

It feels really unfortunate to be writing this review and I really hope to remove it if I get a response back from Peter. My friend and I chose to stay at the Mount Morris House for it's location and it's obvious old charm. While it was located nicely near Central Park and the room was adorable, spacious and clean, we did have a major issue that we felt needed to be addressed. Entering the home was easy and seamless (entering with a key code) but when we arrived we noticed that we didn't receive a key to our room, the door to our room was unlocked and our names were displayed on the door. We could see that there were several other rooms (approximately 5) in the same stairwell that had names, so other guests were staying in the home along with us. This was expected and totally fine, howev
