Motel 6 Litchfield, IL

I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. This was legitimately a disappointment in every way I would judge a motel. The room was not sufficiently cleaned. The toilet was unflushed and it would be horrifying to describe here what was left even after flushing. They did not provide any soap until asked and even then specifically denied providing shampoo at all. The bed only had one pillow per person and it was flat and uncomfortable. There's a Baymont right next door that I went to last time, and while it's more expensive in general, the difference in feeling clean and secure is worth it. My partner couldn't sleep because you can hear everything in the hallways and the staff is loud and gossipy. At about 3am someone decided to juggle pots and pans. Overall, find anywhere else to sleep.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Card for door didn’t work. Sink was clogged with dirty water. Told management and they tried to fix it to no avail. So I had to play plumber on my trip. I fixed it! 🤨 doors propped open everywhere. Probably because cards not working. Horrible experience.

Good location within walking distance of Litchfield attractions. I appreciate that the place was fairly clean, although the cigarette burns on the vanity top were a real turn off. I also had a problem with stepping into the bathtub to take a shower - the floor of the tub was so slippery that my foot slid back and the only thing that prevented a bad fall was my other leg slamming against the side of the tub to arrest the fall. I was very nervous the entire time of taking a shower. The hotel needs to do something about this dangerous safety issue. It's basically a bare bone establishment that offers minimal amenities, which I'm normally happy with. But... Start off with the poorly maintained parking lot in the middle of winter. Ice on ground before front door. Front vestibule door doesn't stay shut. Carpet in halls leading to room is an uneven tripping hazard to say the least. In room there was clearly trash from whoever was there last, whenever that was seeing as the parking lot was empty the 3 days we were there except for maybe 5 cars. Wall look filthy. No refrigerator. No microwave. Bathtub drips so shut the bathroom door if you want sleep. Sink leaks on the floor when you use it. This definitely a huge let down as we were traveling far away from home at the time. I'm in my mid 30s and have stayed in a few hotels over the years for one or more nights at a time. Absolutely the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are rude. Wear camis and pajamas pants at work lol. Not professional. Every room I stayed in was nasty. Ashes everywhere and white power all over the floors. Floors made your feet black. A lot of the lights don’t work. Not kid friendly like they said they were. kids can’t be loud.
