Motel 6 Elkton, MD

It was my first time ever staying at a motel 6 a few weeks ago. it was far cleaner than I expected based on what I had heard about this chain. They don't exactly have the greatest rap sheet so I was scared but then finally gave in to see for myself. like I said it was way cleaner than I expected, even the base of the toilet was clean, it was reasonably priced and it was quiet. The service was fine and checking in/out was a breeze. I never saw any roaches, or any signs of them. Did see a few stinkbugs but that's not an issue for me, I'm concerned about roaches, mice, bedbugs, all the truly nasty ones. Saw none of that. My biggest issue is the lack of refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms. I didn't know that was still a thing lol....I had food with me and had to go buy a cooler and ice.

Positive: Nothing Negative: The chemical/drug smell as soon as I walked into the room. Getting bit by bugs in the bed and staff ignoring me.

Made reservations directly from motel. Was booked for one night. Walked into room and first thing I noticed was the smell. A strong odor. Room was smaller than the other Motel 6's we have stayed at. Noticed it was dirty it had dirt on the floor must have not been occupied in a long while. it was behind the desk and under it. Were not pleased at all. Went to get a refund and did not want to stay another minute. Staff was very kind offered us a new room but we said no we just wanted our money back. No hassles which was a plus. There wasn't too many occupants either.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. DONT STAY HERE! Cockroaches in the room. Checked in walked into room and cockroaches in the tub and on the walls. Immediately called front desk and asked for refund. They actually walked to the room to see if I messed it up. I'm pretty sure the bugs fit that all on their own. I was told 10 days to get a refund when It only ll took 30 seconds to take it out of my account. Nope not acceptable then I was told I would be given a stay at a later date. NOPE that's unacceptable. Totally disgusting. The receptionist also informed me she has worked there for 3 years and stays there and it's always been a problem. How in good conscience can you rent someone a room knowing they will end up taking them home.

*ROACHES!* My Mom made the reservation for our one night stay while we visited family. Once we got there and checked in we went to our room. As soon as we got into the room I went to go use the bathroom and immediately was greeted by a roach crawling up the wall. I took a video of it and immediately called the front desk to let them know we need a refund because we can't stay where there are bugs. The front desk lady said she had to come check the room. Fine, we've been in there less than five minutes and haven't had a chance to touch anything. She came in and said everything was fine and to come to the front desk for our refund. Once we got up there she (front desk lady) called the owner and he okayed a full refund but we had to do it through the reservation phone number. She also let us
