Customer Reviews
My rating reflects the people at the campground rather than the park itself. Unfortunately, my partner and I had a very negative experience. While setting up our site, a stranger approached us, made an extremely inappropriate comment, and lingered outside our tent asking to join. This behavior made us feel unsafe, and we chose to leave immediately. In addition, we witnessed a heated argument between two nearby campsites, all within about 30 minutes of our arrival. It’s disappointing, as I would have liked to experience the park, but the atmosphere felt too unsafe to stay.
Been camping here for a couple years when we come to town to visit family. The park itself is nice, and the sites are pretty spacious. However, as of late, we noticed that there are a lot of "semi permanent" campers there. Looks like they move spots when the allowed time is up. When we got there mid week, there were only 2 spots available. It makes it difficult since there are only a couple options for camping in the Cedar Rapids area. Otherwise, it was pretty clean. Husband took showers at their facilities right after they were cleaned in the morning.
Good overnight stop. Water and Electric and a Dump Station. Restroom was not yet open, even though the website said it was 4/10. Close to Costco where we got our truck tires Rotated and Balanced, filled up with fuel and did some shopping. We did notice several sites with small tents, which were apparently saving the spots for the big rigs which arrived later in the day. On the website this says it is not allowed. It's a shame some people think the rules don't apply to them.
Enjoy the park always find myself walking the trails talking to the wildlife. Clean facilities always well kept and maintained with amenities.
Lot of homeless staying, and shower and bathroom garbage not dumped once during the 2 weeks there. Figured they’d do it before mothers day weekend but nope. Not many other places in the area though
