Mohawk Mountain Ski Area is a great mountain and one of our favorite quick, local trips. It’s the kind of place you can count on for a solid day on the slopes without having to overthink the logistics. We always have a great time here. The trails are well maintained, the grooming is consistently good, and it never feels overwhelming or chaotic. It’s perfect for families, kids, and anyone who just wants to get out and ski or ride without turning it into a whole production. Mohawk is ideal for a day trip- easy to get to, easy to navigate, and relaxed in the best way. I made my first visit to Mohawk Mountain today, and I’ll definitely be back. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful in guiding me through the lift-ticket purchase and ski rental process. The lifts ran super efficiently with very little/no wait time, and there was a good mix of trails (I think I hit every trail except Pinnacle). I was also impressed with the skillset of the people skiing - everyone was respectful and knew how to ski.

A much needed active and fun afternoon snow tubing. Good value for money. For$40 you can slide down 10 well defined tube runs as many times as you like for 1 3/4 hours. A moving elevator takes you up to the start and tubes are provided.

Customer service was at an all-time low. It took nearly an hour just to check in, and throughout the property, most staff members seemed to have an attitude. Very few employees made any effort to enhance our experience. James, the gentleman in the rental area, was the exception. He provided outstanding customer service; professional, helpful, and welcoming. He alone deserves five stars. Skiing itself was enjoyable, but the experience at nearly every station downstairs was frustrating. Instead of offering guidance, staff often responded in a combative tone, seemed intent on proving us wrong, and repeatedly told us to “figure it out,” sending us back and forth without clear direction. Great, especially midweek. Best in CT by far: great vibe. It’s got a 1970s/80’s feel without being rundown. Prices are fair in comparison to other CT options. Lodge has great standard lodge food - nothing fancy but if you live cafeteria style burgers in foil this delivers. The trails are fun - best for beginners or mid level skiings but if there’s snow you’ll find moguls and some nice little trails through the woods. The vibe is old school skiing - not trying to be fancy. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and there are so many things that haven’t changed a bit (in a good way). My kids love it. Highly recommend. Better than any CT ski area and I choose it over Butternut. Jiminy is way better but a longer drive and way more expensive.
