Missile Silo Adventure (Atlas Ad Astra)

My husband and I camped here with our two dogs and Matthew and Dover were the best hosts! We have a tiny camper and we made a trip out to specifically go on the tour and it was definitely worth the trip. Matthew is a very skilled tour guide and hospitality is a huge strength. Its proximity to the town of Wilson was ideal for groceries and Matt’s recommendations for a dinner out on the town were fantastic. I am sure his place is also amazing in peak season but I really enjoyed the trip in the Winter and his sites allowed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of firewood, bonfire pit, and well maintained sites and trails! Thank you for a great weekend! Can’t wait to bring friends and family back to enjoy with us next time!

Great place to visit! We loved our tour with Matthew. He has a great vision for the development of the silo and grounds. Great information about the silo and history! Highly recommend this tour!! We spent the night through Harvest Hosts in our RV and were treated to a beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Fantastic tour of the missile silo by knowledgeable, passionate, friendly Mathew. He knew the history well and has been renovating the site all by himself, supported by Community projects. What he has managed with the site is exemplary and fascinating. Highly recommend staying at the Air BnB on site, and couldn't recommend more this stop on your way. Don't miss this unique opportunity!

We had such a wonderful stay at Atlas Ad Astra! 🍂 We joined for a Harvest Host stop and it turned into such a unique and memorable experience. The tour of the decommissioned missile silo was absolutely fascinating — and even cooler, our host Matthew has created an Airbnb experience inside the silo for those who want to stay in such a one-of-a-kind space! Matthew set up a fire the night we arrived and we enjoyed chatting with him and swapping stories with other RV’rs. Our pup Huckleberry had the best time running around and playing with the hosts’ sweet dog, Dozer. 🐾 Matthew was incredibly welcoming and easy to chat with—we really enjoyed our conversations with him. This is a peaceful, truly unique stop, and we felt right at home. Highly recommend Atlas Ad Astra to anyone passing through

After reviewing everyones review I can only concur....this is a bucket list place to visit. Teri & Bill stayed a night in our Class C. Able to watch the Beaver Moon rise and set. The high point where this site is affords miles long views. Bring a telescope & watch the planets Matthew suggested a close restaurant... The Midland Railroad Hotel & Restaurant Well....this is just a gem of sustainability in the middle of Kansas. Matthew & Dozier ...the Rhodesian Redback... Are inseparable Companions. Please, just visit this site. Stay a day or more. If you are a fixer of lawn mowers.... maybe you could do some fixin' on a few mowers. Just a thought 🤔. Thanks Matthew & Dozier .
