Customer Reviews
Absolutely gorgeous scenery, even the view from the parking lot is stunning. Lots of wildflowers by the trail when we went (early August). The trail is a 0.7 mile loop which takes you by the old cabin and mineshaft. There’s some very informative placards that you can read along the trail about the history of the area as well as the flora and fauna. The trail itself is pretty easy— I don’t do much hiking but I didn’t find it to be particularly difficult. The elevation gains were the only thing that gave me pause but I’ve got asthma so that’s very normal. Highly recommend for a quick hike to see some great scenery and learn a thing or two.
This was an unexpectedly cool stop! We took some pictures of ourselves because we are from Iowa and we don't get mountain views like this. It was interesting to read the history behind the area. I am so glad we stopped here!
Passed through on a trip and wish we knew about this! Would've liked to do the hike, I believe it said it was 0.7 mile loop trail. Next time! But the views were outstanding.
Great hiking trail- loop. Not strenuous- and the views are spectacular..
If you want a really short hike, maybe to take the dog out or just stretch your legs, this is a good one. It's less than a mile and there are informative signs to read along the way. You'll pass by an old miner's cabin and an abandoned mine.
