Midland Plaza Hotel

Ice machine broken Some event had streets blocked, entrance to parking garage blocked off. Loud, thumping music all day and half the night. No breakfast included, $15 breakfast. Probably never stay here again

This place was bad. From holes in walls to filthy furniture. Wooden shives under tubs to keep them level, The door frame leading into the bathroom looked like either a teething post for animals or a scratching post for cats. We had no microwave they brought us on from another room that was burned and the turn plate didn't fit. The breakfast.....forget about it, trash. The hashbrowns were sliced potatoes soaked in grease and never cooked and threw on a plate. White potatoes no salt no pepper. On a better note the sausage was very good. The bar food was garbage as well. We came for a reunion. We were told our ppl were staying there but never again. This place needs major upgrades or a wrecking ball.

One of the two elevators was not working, another guest told me it had been out since the last time he stayed there. No AC in the bar area, no AC in the hall ways and the AC in my room could not get cool enough, although it was very hot outside. Well, I hate to say it, but this place is about 1 step away from becoming the building next to it. Which if you ever stay here you will know what I mean. There is an abandoned high rise next to this building with broken windows and bullet holes. Fine enough whatever. But if you stay here, paying $130 a night, you would expect hot water at least. Forget a simple empty mini fridge or microwave, you won't have that either. But come on, hot water? It's a old building and I was staying on the 10th floor and figured well maybe I just need to flood the pipe to get the hot water from the basement boiler or something. I have always loved Hilton brand hotels and never had a negative experience until now. The Double Tree Hotel Midland, TX needs a complete renovation & update their website on amenities. The pool is closed and appears to have been out of operation for months. One of the elevators is broken. The hotel restaurant is closed but guests can order room service. My room was clean but outdated; no USB outlets make sure you pack the outlet block for your devices. During my stay the week of Aug 26 - Aug 30th the fire alarms went off on Tues & Thursday after midnight requiring evacuation. The hotel is overpriced for what you get and the condition on the hotel. The only thing this hotel currently has going for it is the staff is nice and friendly.
