Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Bend/At Notre Dame

First time at a Microtel and was pleasantly surprised. It's a no-frills place, but was perfect for a stop on a roadtrip. Comfortable and clean rooms. Had everything I needed. Their free breakfast was lacking a little compared to other hotels, but it was free so it's a win either way. Only issue I had was the timer on the automatic bathroom light was so short it turned off several times while showering and had to stick my arm out and wave to turn it back on.

It was a ok hotel for what you pay. Pretty clean, free breakfast, staff was nice. Easy check in and out. If you are someone that likes to shower and poop in pitch black darkness this hotel is for you!!! Yes I’m serious you will be showering in the dark and have to get out to make the lights turn back on.

I try not to complain much and just be grateful and respectful. This visit to this establishment was nothing like the other times. Our room was way smaller for the price we paid. The AC unit did not work half the time after I asked it to be looked at twice and our room was only checked by housekeeping. It was a sub par stay compared to the other times I have been here.

Positive: The location was really good very close to ND Negative: The room carpet was really dirty. White socks were left black due to sticky and dirty carpetThere was food in the fridge. There was crayolas on the floor. Tub with hairs and dirty. Crumbs of crackers on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel .
