Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Colfax/Newton

Conveniently located just off I-80 on a frontage road. Clean property, friendly front desk person (Chris?). Room was clean, spacious and well decorated. Comfortable bed and clean linens, quiet AC/heater. Didn't make it to breakfast, but standard buffet continental items are offered. Reasonably priced. No pool. Two story property with an elevator. Plenty of free parking for cars, and oversize vehicles can drive around back and park, (tractor trailers may be better off parking along the frontage road). Gas and truck repair (semi's) close by. Great place if you're looking for a clean, budget friendly place to spend the night. No shopping or restaurants close by.

Extremely uncomfortable bed with flat pillows. Hotel was almost completely vacant which should have been a sign not to stay. Cold coffee and absolutely the most basic no frills hotel. 1st and last time at a Microtel!

Chris, the main serviceman and manager was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and the tv was raised towards the ceiling making it easy to watch tv while laying in bed.

Regular guest here to this Microtel as I am always assured of a nice stay here, and not disapointed this time either.|Very nice, quiet location next to I-80. I met the manager while checking in.|I was given room 218, nice room on the front, elevator avaialble to the 2nd floor for easy access.|Room was nicely prepared as usual, very clean and cooled off on a hot Iowa day.|Good TV channels and good solid 20Meg wifi.|Great Mexican restaurant in town, 5 minutes drive away. |Big Circle K gas station just over the highway.|Happy to recommend for a good nights rest.
