Solid 3 stars. Front desk was friendly, allowed us to check in super early as we had an early disembarkation from our cruise. Huge props for that. Bullet proof glass around check in desk was off putting. Zero frills hotel. Run down and while not dirty didn’t exactly feel clean. Kept shoes on, tried not to touch much of anything. No hairdryer or extras in any way. There was randomly someone always sleeping on the couch in the foyer, even at 4am when we left for our flight. Airport shuttle was awesome and efficient. Location was great, could be a gem if they put some money in to it. $6 Uber to Coral Gables for dinner and walking around, beautiful area and only 3 miles away. We walked so long we decided to walk back. Never felt unsafe. Needed a cheap room for an overnight with early flight,
The hotel lobby and the room (106) is basic and spartan. The lobby: coffee is supplied in the morning with a container of loose white sugar and Coffeemate. There are no tea bags.. Hallway and lobby floors are tile so I could hear the guests wheeling their luggage upon arrival and departure. The room consisted of a bed, a nightstand, one table with two chairs and a low rise dresser and a tv. The furniture was poor quality in worn condition. The floor in the room consists of large square ceramic tiles. The walls were painted with a solid dark color and there were no pictures, no photos, no decorations on the walls or anywhere in the room. There is no microwave, no coffeemaker. There are two wrapped plastic cups with a plastic ice bucket sitting on a plastic tray. There is a small
I chose check-in for 1pm. When getting there told was told give them 30 mins to clean rooms. Waited a good 45 mins and still told need more time. I drove 4.5 hours to get there and still waited. Watching others coming in and going to a room aggravated me. About 1.5 hours later, was told can go to room.
Airport travelers: read this before booking. My experience at the Miami Princess Hotel was extremely concerning. This property is a confusing hybrid of motel and hotel layouts. Part of the building has motel-style rooms with exterior doors facing the parking lot, while another section has interior hallways and an elevator like a traditional hotel. The two setups are mixed together in a way that makes the property feel chaotic rather than secure. I arrived around 1:00 a.m., and within minutes there was a loud argument between a couple near the lobby, yelling aggressively. I specifically asked the front desk not to place me near the people who were fighting. The clerk repeatedly insisted on giving me what he called the “best room in the back.” After walking all the way there, I discovered th
This hotel is ok for the cruiser coming in late if you need to save money. The rooms are clean and our ac was great. The rooms are spacious but no storage. No fridge. There is a great restaurant right across the street. A target is about a 10 minute walk and neighborhood is good. It could be a really cool hotel if they would spend some money on furniture and deco. Overall for the money its fine for a night.
