Metro Inn JFK

It’s now a men’s shelter and one of the best I’ve been to! Three meals a day, clean rooms and linen. They help you get back on your feet and even have programs that will aid you in finding a place that fits your budget. Conveniently located close to bus stop that drops you off right by the subway. Strongly recommend for any fellow male who’s down on their luck.

There is a terrible parking situation and no pull through for your vehicle to check in and drop off bags. There are no ice/vending machines on each floor. No microwaves. Let's get to the breaker of this hotel. The sound that could be helped. The Room doors slam shut AND the fire exit doors. So if you are close to a fire exit door, they have a security gaurd who does rounds twice an hour through the night wee morning hours and lets the the door SLAM behind them. So as soon you start to drift back to potential sleep... BAM.. door slams... If you are anything other than a heavy sleeper, I would be very weary of this hotel. Coffee is average at best and it's bag breakfasts. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable.

I'm a non smoker and when I got to the hotel the person told me laughing that it was a smokers room only one available. and I could open the window. Why would a single woman want to open the window at night on a ground level floor. I had a missed flight so this was an emergency stay. The breakfast and shuttle were decent for free . I read the reviews on the bed bugs but as tired as I was I slept with pants and long sleeve pajamas, maybe they fixed the problem because I didn't get bit.If you are looking for a cheap hotel and have missed the flight I recommend but if you need a 5 star hotel this is not it. But

I am writing this review for warning people who are considering to stay at this inn! *DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING AT THIS INN* The worst inn I have ever stayed. Blood stains on beds. Found a reddish & flat insect, which is presemably a bed bug. A lot of reddish & itchy spots on my body (especially arms, legs and back) after staying at this inn just for one night. Severe stress due to the possibility that the bed bugs are brought to my home via my clothes. No apology from the inn when I called them. The inn just reacted as if the responsibility for this problem is on me. Stayed here twice in the last few years..the first time I was given a room with guests already in the room..I'm not sure who was more startled..staff then checked me into a room below ground level with a parking lot window. the second time I had to kill a little bug (bed bug?) in my bed and stayed awake for the rest of the night
