Got caught in an ice storm on the way back from Big Bend. Hotel next door was full but the owner said he had a room in his old hotel. We took him up on it since we had no choice because roads were all closed getting out of town. BIG MISTAKE! As my wife and I pulled in several doors opened around us and those were not boy scouts looking outside. Looked like they left the gate open at the local jail. Worst night of sleep in my life. Wore my cloths all night so I didn't touch the sheets. All we had for heat was a window unit AC/Heater and it barely put out any heat. The floors and some of the walls were ceramic tile so the cold radiated all night. There was a side room with an outside door that was barely attached and locked with a sliding lock that was loose. We never did go to sleep and I
The worst place I ever stayed in my life. I should've just slept in the truck.
