Beautiful location on the lake. Plenty of room between sites that come with a nice firepit. Wonderful sunrise and an even better sunset. Restrooms and showers clean and well maintained. Good cell reception.

Off the beaten path... Quiet.. Great showers and restrooms.. very nice for rest and relaxation and fishing. It is the middle to late part of February and I was the only one here for the most part for an entire week. You can collect firewood from going around and looking and the place is very spacious as well as a covered for some of the spots that you camp. I am hoping to come back here because there is no noise from the highway no noise at all at night. There are some wild hogs, deer, coyotes and lots of wildlife and birds.

We spent some time here one day to do some wildlife viewing before going on to the Wildlife Management Area nearby. Much of the park’s area is in view of the lake. On this short visit, we saw aquatic birds and some armadillos. I found the birds to be more skittish here than I have in other places, and I found it hard to photograph them. I was pleasantly surprised to find the ladies’ room clean and well-stocked with toilet paper, even though it was the middle of winter and there wasn’t any staff at the gate. ||(Note: I have picnicked here in the summer, and there can be a lot of mosquitoes then.)

This campground is beautiful and surrounded by Merrisach Lake. We were alone in the campground during our stay. The bath houses were clean and stocked, but the dump station is actually outside the main gate, which was a little inconvenient as we stayed for two weeks and needed to dump our tanks in the middle of it. Bring plenty of supplies, as the closest Walmart is an hour away even though it reads as 34 miles on the map. The main road into the area is called Tichnor Blacktop Road, because all of the other roads in the area are gravel or dirt. But man, you just can't beat the view here! 10/10! WORTH THE TRIP! We use Spectrum Mobile (Verizon Service) and had three bars in the RV, 4 outside. Our hotspot worked great here as well!

Lots of room, camp grounds are clean. Bathhouse liked a little but still ok.
