Such a beautiful place. So serene. Great for retreats.
The Woodlands is a group camping facility that was built during The Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps. There are three group camp sites with different layouts, but similar facilities. The cabins are a rustic Craftsman/Bungalow style. Flush toilets on small artificial hills use a septic system. There is one building with electricity and a communal hot shower room and a few individual shower stalls. The dining hall has a large kitchen with a walk-in refrigerator and easy access to large freezers. Many similar camps were constructed during The Depression around the US. It is on the list of National Historic Landmarks. It's my understanding that The Mendocino Woodlands is the only one of the camps built that has been continually available for public use via group camping. Part of

Reservation only. Went to a retreat here. Gorgeous. Watch for poison oak, bears, mountain lions.
I was chased by 3 windegao here,this place is awesome.
