Customer Reviews
Memphis Texas City Park was a fabulous inexpensive overnight stay while on our way through Texas. The park provides 8 sites. Each site has water and 50/30/20 electric. Though the sites are grass rather than concrete, each appears acceptably level. Best of all, it was quiet. PAYMENT: Here’s the gritty on payment. Unlike some older reviews stating this rv park is free, it’s not free in today’s world (5/11/25). But $15.00 cash, check, or credit card will get you a one night stay. There are 2 ways to pay. 1. Pay in person at City Hall (water department office) or 2. pay at the blue drop box in front of the police station (adjacent City Hall). This may sound like a hassle but City Hall and the police station both are only a few minutes from the park. Hope this helps clear up some of the misund
Nice park with history. Has a 500 seat amphitheater with extra rock seating along the edges. Looks like thrones or seating for powerful people. We found an old cellar and signs of the First National Bank and Rotary Club. Even found the old outhouse with toilet seats built of wood. On the other side is a free camp ground that has 50/30/20 amp plugs and water. A total of 8 sites. You must check in with the police department. I called and got a green light. Thru the night we heard either wild dogs or coyotes... they sounded off 4+ times
It's amazing that they offer free overnight RV parking with electric and water. And I Love their maintenance of the older playground equipment and picnic areas. There are a lot of ants here. Small fire ants and the bigger red ants. It was so many that I was uncomfortable stopping and standing anywhere. I suspect the city doesn't have a budget for pesticides. It's also near 100 degrees and the swimming pool appears to be abandoned. Hoping they open the pool after memorial day. Also, what's with all the abandoned stone structures in the trees in either side of the amphitheater?
Quiet & Clean Area behind large community pool. Only 30 amp worked but it had a 50 amp plug as well. No dump station but it was a perfect spot for our two night stay. Lots of wild turkeys & a nice playground for children. Big rigs fit. Ours was 40'
Wow this place is great! It’s a free RV park with water and electricity (20/30/50). Super quiet and tucked back in the countryside next to a really nice public pool! I made sure to patronize a few of the local businesses when I got here and looking forward to trying that donut store in the morning as I head out. Thank you so much Memphis, TX!
