This not NOT a KOA. The families here have been here for generations. You definitely need some sort of ATV or Golf cart to get around. The place is amazing because of the campers and the family the McCarthy Family. If you want the cookie cutter camp sites... this is not it. If you want a Family and community, this is where we go. We know what we signed up for and work to help the campers make it better every year.

We have a permanent site here. It’s quiet. Enjoy next time no cell phone service for a great disconnect. Ride around on your four wheelers or side by sides. This was July 4th weekend. So in true fashion there was a big bonfire, the owners put on and a fireworks show! Our dogs love it here. Then there is the cute little creek that flows behind our site.

Absolutely love camping here at McCarthys. Been here for 11 years ,Family atmosphere, everyone helps everyone. Adrian is amazing when there is an issue he is there quick and does his best to fix it . Leashed pets are welcome. Trails are so much fun Good old fashioned fun,like camping should be.

Upon arrival, there was a closed notice clearly posted by the Department of Health. Despite this, the owner offered to let us camp there at a “discounted rate,” which raises serious public health and ethical concerns. The campground appeared unsafe, with visible drug activity and no enforcement of basic safety policies such as prohibiting drinking and driving. This facility should not be operating under these conditions and requires immediate inspection and intervention to ensure public safety. Update: I get it’s not a KOA Campground of America, but for what they charge, it should be up to par if not better since it’s privately owned. Definitely not somewhere I’d recommend camping.

If you want TRUE camping and TRUE family, this is the place to go. This is not your typical camp ground, this campground is one huge family. Everyone helps everyone. You don't have paved roads but you have TRUE camping. We love it here and are so excited to be welcomed to the mcarthy camping family!!
