Mayfair Motel

Mayfair Motel is well known in the area as a welfare motel and for decades has catered largely to transients and the unhoused. The motel has a reputation of being dirty and poorly cared for, has a history of fires. The new building at the front of the property is about 20 years old after a major fire burned down that wing of the motel. Not unusual for sketchy people to be hanging around the property.

Honestly, I ended up here due to a situation outside of my control. The rate started at $90 a night. But he raised the rate to $115 a night after we stayed about a week. When I asked, the owner even admitted he's charging that rate to the state for vouchers. So the owner is openly fraudulent with the state and is using homeless people to do it. It's honestly gross. Plus he had us in that room for almost the full 30 days we were there WITHOUT a smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector. I honestly thought we had one until the younger guy came in and asked to install it. The ONLY reason I even wanted to stay there was it was within walking distance to a lot. I think that's why the owner is so mean. He yelled at me my last day there and was not easy to understand. He kept saying 'no more than 3

Roaches in tub roaches on the floor toilet with dry blood and dirt never clean before I got here.

It was so good, that I don't even remember being here 😂
