Boardwalk trail is currently down for reconstruction. They do have plenty of the areas/trails that can be walked. Beach area, playing area, picnic and more. If you really want they have a hotel you can stay at or even a camping area. Beautiful sunsets mixed with some wildlife.
This is a large State Park. Campsites are large and private. You do not really see your neighbors. All of the campsites I saw had pads and fire pits. There is electric hookup at the site. Look at the site map on the web site to determine where the restrooms and water are located. This park has a beach on Lake Erie and on an inland pond by Lake Erie. There are many hiking and bike trails. Really nice. There is a Lodge with hotel type rooms. There is a Nature Center with a boardwalk that is handicap accessible. There is a golf course AND a very nice disc golf course. This is also just fifteen minutes away from a Walmart if you forgot anything. A weekend or a week, this is a great campground. The only negative is that the campground sites are a long walk from the beach if you have kids.
Campsites are large but lack shade. Restrooms are very nice. The park offers many activities including an archery park, a kayaking/canoeing pond, a lake Erie beach as well as an inland beach on a man-made lake, disc golf, boardwalk trails, nature center, a lodge/hotel.and more!
Beautiful day to enjoy at the end of Summer. The wind is heavy but feels so good. Its not to hot now so you can spend more time touring trails too.
The beach at Maumee Bay State Park is a pretty solid spot if you’re looking to hang out by Lake Erie. It’s got a decent stretch of sand—not huge, but enough space to spread out and chill. The views of the lake are really nice, especially on a clear day when the water’s calm and blue. It’s perfect for a laid-back picnic or just soaking up some sun. That said, the beach does get busy on weekends and during summer, so if you want some peace and quiet, try going early or on a weekday. Swimming is possible, but heads up—sometimes the water quality isn’t the best because of algae blooms, which can make the water a bit murky and not super inviting for a dip. So definitely check the conditions before jumping in. Facilities-wise, there are bathrooms nearby which is convenient, but I’ll be honest,
