Mathiston Motel

I stayed one night here. The owner and his family were friendly and helpful. They gave me a ride to the Subway and provided bottles water and cookies when I checked in. The owner also gave me a ride to the next town over to pick up a U-Haul truck that I rented. The room was dated, but clean and comfy. I was able to get a good night's sleep.

I was cycling the Natchez Trace in winter and it rained, got soaking wet. Stopped at this motel. Owner was nice, he let me use his dryer and drove me to subway to get a sandwich in his van. He told me the story why so many motels are run by Indians. Yes not the classiest motel, wifi was weak. But what do you expect for $35.

I stayed here for a night while I was cycling down the Natchez Trace. The hotel is kind of a dump (about what you'd expect for $35, cash only) but the owner was very friendly and it was a roof over my head for the night.

Owner was rude and hung up on me when trying to ask about my niece that had been needing a ride away from there. Lack of concern for a person in cold weather doesn't say much for the business.

Came here while bike touring. Great place to stop. Owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Not far off trace.
